The Old Mill Coffee shop, a charming converted working mill complex complete with it's original turning waterwheel. The Old Mill is a sandstone and granite building and was built circa 1890, the interior is pleasant and the mood is ambient.
The Coffee Shop is now back under the management of
the Centre Owner's after a 2 year period of leasing it out. There are 40 covers inside and from spring time onwards, there are a further 18 covers outside, and rustic furniture by the waterwheel. We also have soft seats and sofas so you can simply have a drink, read a paper, enjoy and relax!
The menu, is simple, healthy and wholesome, we do not sell any fried food, our cakes and baking is all homemade on the premises, and we use the eggs from our own free range chickens and ducks for all of our baking. We 'tailor make' sandwiches and toasties with a wide range of fresh fillings, and a variety of freshly baked breads, rolls, bagels, foccacia, pannini, ciabata and baguettes, white, wholegrain, sundried tomato, or granary. We usually have two different homemade soups on the menu every day, and you can build your own salad or cold platter!
We sell a wide range of hot and cold drinks and have a healthy children's menu. We welcome coach parties, but would appreciate that the Driver's or Rep's give us a call prior to arrival, as the Visitor Centre and the Coffee Shop can be an extremely busy place during the holiday periods.
The Old Mill is an Ideal location where partners are regularly left to have a coffee, get some peace and read the paper or catch up with their pals, whilst their other half looks round the shops of the Visitor Centre. We have regular monthly periodicals and newspapers everyday to read whilst you while away your time and enjoy your coffee! We also sell take away sandwiches and hot and cold drinks, and can arrange birthday party's which can incorporate some of the activities provided by the Arran Quad Centre.
